Artist's Description
The story and history of Los Angeles and the surrounding area, most likely involved the Port of Los Angeles and Berth 58 warehouse. The Port opened in 1907 to accommodate population growth in southern California, early east asian trade, and the fishing and cannery industry which Star-Kist was the largest in the world. Berth 58 warehouse was part of a multitude of warehouses used for storage when the ships were off-loaded.
